July 2007 - Chong Khneas, Tonle Sap Lake
Floating village on Tonle Sap that serves as the main tourist excursion harbor and home for over 1000 houseboats, most of whose inhabitants work in the thriving Tonle Sap fishing industry.

Dave Perkes (white T-shirt) of Peace of Angkor Guest House and a group of photo tour participants unloading from the van to transfer to the boat in Chong Khneas.

Young Pro Photographer
The youngest professional photographer I have ever come across in my travels. This little girl takes photos of all the tourists as they get out of their vehicles and when they arrive back from their tour trip has small souvenir plates with the pictures on them ready for sale. There is of course an organization of grown-ups behind this business but all the tourists ever see are this girl and her even younger assistants.

School house on lake
This brightly colored school building is anchored on the bank of the harbour and just like the rest of the village, moves with the rising and falling of the lake which can change up to 4 meters in height from the low to the high season (November and December).

Soda sales on lake
As we came out into the Tonle Sap Lake (which is so big you can not see the other shore) this boat chased us down and boarded us while we were running, to sell us cold drinks.
