Some of you may have already read that Apple is so worried about the new consumer craze for netbooks, that they are going to lower the prices on their MacBook line of portables within a few weeks or maybe even days (I mean it is Spring isn’t it?).
Apple shareholders are of course concerned because if the insanely high profit margin of Apple products is lowered they might not receive the dividends they are counting on to pay for their next Beemer (or maybe they are all saving up for a Tesla Model S right now).
What I can’t help wondering is if the prices of refurbished MacBooks will also go down, maybe I will be able to afford a refurbished MacBook Air, if I wait for the knocked down ones to hit the refurbished store.
But let’s face it if Apple only goes down by 10% on their MacBook line of laptops, so what? They will still be too expensive compared to netbooks. And I really don’t care how much they go down on that white plastic low end MacBook, I still won’t buy it, BRING BACK THE BLACK MODEL.
So here is what I would actually be interested in buying:
Black plastic MacBook (minimal system config – 120GB HD) – $600.
Aluminum MacBook (minimal system config – 120GB HD) – $750.
MacBook Air (minimal system config. – 120GB HD) – $850.
And I will still wait for the refurbished prices.
