Bill Atkinson PhotoCard – Postcards now available free on App Store

App Store – Bill Atkinson PhotoCard – Postcards

Bill Atkinson made the following announcement on Google+ today.

“Bill Atkinson PhotoCard 5 is now available free from the the iTunes App store. With it you can make custom postcards using my nature photos or your own photos, and send them via email or by post using a print-and-mail service that I run myself.

The last three years of my life have been dedicated to saving the tradition of printed postcards. Our emails, text messages, twitter, facebook, and Google+ messages are great for their convenience and immediacy, but they scroll off way too fast.

The printed postcard offers a tangible feel, an ongoing presence on a fridge, and a lasting memory in a shoebox. We can use modern mobile technologies to make it easy and convenient for people to create and send high quality one-of-a-kind custom postcards.

Runs on any iOS device: iPad, iPhone, iPod touch. No Android version yet.”

I just received an additional comment from Bill Atkinson:

George, thank you for spreading the word.

PhotoCard 5 has many improvements, including that all cards are now hot-laminated to protect against postal damage.

Cards to USA still cost as little as $1.50 for an 8.25 x 5.5 inch card with great color and archival properties.

The full app is now totally free, including 200 nature photos, 200 stamp designs, and 400 stickers.

Best wishes, Bill
