Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 Tutorials -
Workspace Overview
Adobe Help: You use
each Lightroom module to focus on a specific
portion of the photographic workflow: the Library module for importing,
organizing, comparing and selecting photos; the Develop module for
adjusting color and tone or creatively processing photos; and the
Print, Slideshow, and Web modules for presenting your photos.
Each module workspace includes several panels that contain options and
controls for working on your photos. |
The Lightroom workspace is
comprised of:
1. Identity plate and Module
Picker - the top of the Lightroom window which can be toggled on
and off and allows you to pick between the Library, Print, Slideshow, and Web modules.
2. Panels for working with
folders and collections, or applying presets - this is the set
of panels on the left hand side of the Lightroom window, which allows
you to determine which files you are going to work with in the Library
module and gives you access to presets and image history in the Develop
module.
3. Filmstrip - located
at the bottom of the Lightroom window, the Filmstrip allows you to
select new images to work with while you are in modules other than the
Library module. The range of images represented in the Filmstrip is
selected in the Library module.
4. Panels for working with
metadata, adjusting images, customizing layouts - these panels
are located on the right hand side of the Lightroom window and are your
main control panels used to develop the images and refine the output
from Lightroom.
5. Grid view or image display
- the grid view is of course only available in the Library module and
the image display is available in all modules. This area takes up the
center and the majority of the window area, the size of the area is
easily adjusted by toggling on/off the side panels, identity
plate and filmstrip areas.
6. Toolbar - immediately
below the main image display area is the toolbar which provides access
to the crop tool, view variations, flags, labels and various other
tools. The toolbar can be customized to show only the tools you use the
most.
| Adobe Help: Switch
to another module - In the Library module, display the images you want
to work with, and then click a module name in the Module Picker (upper
right in the Lightroom window), or use a shortcut key. |
