Angkor Wat
There is a lot of construction work going on, but it still does not detract from the beauty of the Angkor Wat Temple.

Angkor Wat tourists
Cambodians visit the temples on weekends, some are there to worship and others to marvel at the sites just like any other tourist.

Angkor Wat pool
This "swimming pool" inside Angkor Wat, is incredible condition, considering that it is almost 1,000 years old.

Angkor Wat mural
The stone carved wall murals at Angkor Wat have to be seen up close and personally to appreciate how big and intricate they are.

Angkor Wat Apsara
These Apsara dancers are out on a narrow ledge and fairly high above the ground, so they have not been touched and fondled very much.

Angkor Wat Apsara
The face and some other body parts of this Apsara dancer are shiny from close to a thousand years of having people touch and rub them (probably hoping that some of the beauty will rub off on them).

Angkor Wat stairs
Stairway to heaven? No just to the top of the Angkor Wat temple. There are newer wooden stair cases in most places, but they are not as much fun. The way down is another story though, most visitors choose the less steep wooden stairs for the descent.
