Nikon D70 Review - page one

JPEG BASIC - no enhancement - straight out of the camera

Test shots of Man Lienemann (my son and number one photo assistant)

These images are JPEG BASIC - no processing whatsoever - originals were shot as RAW+JPEG - the only thing that was done to these images was to make an automatic slide show in Photoshop CS directly from the original images (to send to his grandmother) slide show is here. I then used the pictures from that slide show to make this page.

Pictures were shot in full automatic (green setting) with no special settings whatsoever. The images are in the sequence they were shot in, which is why some are not as sharp as others, I wanted everyone to get a feeling for what the D70 does automatically, and very quickly. (I do have to say that for this kind of rapid fire shooting I prefer the D2H because it focuses much faster and more accurately.)

If you are looking for more sharpness, I am not a big fan of flash fill for these kind of pictures, because I prefer the soft look of natural light. Also I did not want to apply any filtration in software just show you the out of camera results of JPEG BASIC with 100% automatic camera settings.

Camera: Nikon D70 - lens 18-70 DX zoom

I am posting these images in answer to some of the questions about strange colors, exposure problems, etc. If I decide to print any of thes pictures, the RAW files will give me better quality than you see here.
